The innovation of Styropor® Ccycled® lies in replacing fossil raw materials with pyrolysis oil, obtained from the chemical recycling of mixed plastic waste. Through BASF's certified Mass Balance approach, this waste is reintroduced into the production cycle, reducing the carbon footprint (PCF) by 90% compared to the traditional version. Despite this ecological shift, the material maintains the fundamental requirements for thermal insulation and food-contact safety unchanged. The entire process is guaranteed by international standards such as REDCERT2 and ISCC PLUS, providing a solution that drastically cuts CO2 emissions.
